Visiting The Hirshhorn Museum (and Washington, D.C.)
On January 29th, 2020, I visited Washington, D.C. and the Hirshhorn Museum for the first time as part of the BRINK team during a product planning sprint with a longtime client.

SEED SPOT DC Impact Accelerator
The first evening included attendance at a SEED SPOT DC Impact Accelerator event hosted at the Booz Allen Hamilton Innovation Center. The gathering featured:
- One hour of networking with drinks and hors d'oeuvres
- An inspirational talk by Scott Case, Co-Founder and CEO of Upside Business Travel
- Pitches from 11 innovative startups seeking support and funding
The crowd was incredibly supportive and encouraging—a super inspiring event.

Washington D.C. Exploration
The group explored the city during our free time, visiting various locations including our AirBnB, the BRINK studio, downtown D.C., and the memorials on a rainy evening.

Hirshhorn Museum Exhibitions
Barbara Kruger: Belief+Doubt
The first major exhibit featured typographical installations with bold statements in Kruger's characteristic style, taking over the entire downstairs lobby environment.

Pat Steir: Color Wheel
This exhibition showcased canvas paintings spanning nearly 400 linear feet progressing through the color spectrum. Each canvas featured unique brushstrokes and paint drips in complementary colors.

Mark Bradford: Pickett's Charge
Located on the third floor, this presented a massive installation of texture.

Julian Rosefeldt: Manifesto
This became the standout experience for our group—a 13 video installation featuring actor Cate Blanchett performing excerpts from great manifestos. The exhibit included thirteen screens playing simultaneously, with volumes gradually increasing to create an immersive multisensory experience.

The exhibition profoundly impacted visitors, with our group spending nearly two hours engaging with the installation. Worth every second.

If you have any questions or just want to talk about the experience, feel free to reach out.
